How to Play Realm of Legend — Beginner's Guide
Realm of Legend is a dungeon-crawler RPG where you descend into procedural dungeons, build an army, summon legendary allies, and climb the arena leaderboard. This guide walks you through everything you need to start strong. You can play free in your browser or on Android and iOS.
1. Getting started
You can jump in instantly with Play as Guest, or create a free account to sync your progress to the cloud across devices. If you plan to play on more than one device, make an account so your hero and army travel with you.
2. The Dungeon Entrance
The dungeon is the heart of the game. Pick a difficulty before you descend:
- Normal — Loot ×1, Stats ×1. Start here to learn the ropes.
- Hard — Loot ×2, Stats ×2. A step up once your hero is geared.
- Nightmare — Loot ×5, Stats ×4. Serious rewards, serious danger.
- Inferno — Loot ×15, Stats ×10, and full manual command of every unit. The ultimate challenge.
3. Build your army in the War Camp
You don't fight alone. In the War Camp you can recruit up to three soldiers with gold:
- Warrior (150g) — tough frontliner that draws enemy attacks.
- Archer (200g) — high single-target damage from the back.
- Mage (300g) — arcane blasts that hit ALL enemies.
- Healer (250g) — keeps your hero and army standing.
A balanced team — a Warrior to tank, a damage dealer, and a Healer — will carry you through the early tiers.
4. Summon legendary allies
Spend gems to add one powerful legendary ally alongside your soldiers: the Goblin Sapper (bomb), Hell Hound (twin strike), Void Evil (life drain), or the apex Inferno Dragon (fire breath that torches all enemies). Earn gems from bosses and rare drops, or grab them in the store.
5. Battle: stances and tactics
On Normal through Nightmare, the Battle AI commands your army for you. On Inferno, YOU command every unit each round. In any battle you can switch stances (Aggressive, Defensive, Focus Fire) and unleash once-per-battle tactics like Shield Wall, Marked Volley, Arcane Overload, and Divine Ward. Match your stance to the fight and save tactics for tough moments.
6. Gold, gems, and the store
Gold pays for soldiers and gear; gems summon allies and buy premium boosts. You earn both by clearing dungeons and defeating bosses. If you want a head start, the in-game store sells Gem and Gold packs.
7. The Arena — battle other players
Head to Social → Arena to challenge other players from the leaderboard. Pick an opponent, hit Battle, and win Arena Points to climb the ranks — Country, Continent, and Global. You can also raid players' resources from the leaderboard.
